cowell-feature

Whenever the princess sees me making something, her immediate question that always follows, “What are you making, mama?” is “Can you make me something?”

What I love about making her something is seeing her face light up and her desire to wear it whenever possible. Soon enough, she’ll be wanting name brands and not mama’s experiments. So I’m loving this for as long as she will let me!

She loves to help pick out the pattern and materials. We scour Pinterest together and try to find something “do-able” for me and that will look nice on her.

So, I’m working on this wine coloured cowel for her for winter. About 16 rows in (that’s about 3400 stitches and about when the pattern really takes shape), I realize something is not quite right. The holes on one side are bigger than the holes on the other side which means I’m not doing one of the stitches correctly. In fact, you can’t see holes at all!

What should I do? Start over or continue? If I keep going, so long as I continue doing that stitch consistently and the same, I think it will look ok. Or, do I undo it all?

Of course, while contemplating this, I have continued to knit, so now I am even further along. I am a doughhead. What would you do?

  • continue! Are you kidding, 3400 stitches in? or maybe continue to make the same mistake repeatedly. that way you create a new pattern 😉 that’s seriously what i’d do! good job for sticking with it. I can’t wait to see finished product!

    • Thanks, Joyce! I’m leaning towards finishing as is. Sometimes I think I just need to pay more attention. 😉
