museum of glass

What an incredibly busy, tiring but fun first day! After leaving an hour later than scheduled, due to underestimating the time it would take to load up the truck, we managed to make it down to Seattle to meet a good friend for lunch.

In the afternoon, we had our first instalummeet and met up with several Instagrammers from the Seattle area who took us around a couple of sights in Tacoma. Pictured above is the Museum of Glass. Linking the museum and downtown Tacoma is the Chihuly bridge of glass where you can see some of Dale Chihuly‘s beautiful glass art. It is really quite incredible! Must go back when we have more time to explore!

After getting stuck in Tacoma/Olympia rush hour traffic, we finally made it to Portland for dinner at Bokebowl with a friend we had not seen since we all lived in San Francisco almost eleven years ago! Such a great time catching up. This is the miso seafood ramen with pork belly. It was delicious!

Today we are off to Crater Lake! Our first night camping. EEK!
