Can’t believe we already spent three nights in Vegas! And I haven’t had a chance to edit all the photos for this post. I will update them as soon as I can.
The last time I was in Vegas was 1988. I remember the newest hotel at the time was the Caesar’s Palace. Now it’s located in the middle of the strip. We all enjoyed just driving down the strip looking at all the lights!
We tried to do some of the free things with the kids one day, like the flamingo habitat and M & M World, and the boy’s response was, “We’re going to do more fun things tomorrow, right?” More fun meaning funner, not more of what we were doing. Talk about hard to please.
We met our Instagram friend, @expacs, and her family at Red Rock Canyon for sunset one night and the kids had way more fun there. We saw bats flying around like birds and lizards scurrying about. There are also several tortoises living here but we didn’t see any of them. So we went back the next day to explore some more.
I think the heat really took a toll on us here, even though we spent only 10-15 mins outside at a time in between hotels. The boy slept in until noon yesterday so it gave me a chance to do laundry and start prepping for the next six nights of camping.
For our last night, we enjoyed great conversations with friends, a yummy buffet at the Paris hotel and the awesome fountain show at the Bellagio. Our last taste of city life for the next week. We are on our way to the Grand Canyon, Bryce National Canyon and Zion National Park.
Not sure what kind of data service we’ll have so you may not hear from us until we head into San Diego on the 9th. Will update as soon!

Looking forward to your arrival!
crazy cool shot, too! 🙂
Thanks, Chuck! Can’t wait!
