My go-to rib recipe usually involves barbecue sauce but sometimes I just want something different. This is it! These honey garlic ribs are a little crispy, a little sweet, a little garlicky and a lot addictive. If you don’t have an air fryer, see my recipe using an electric pressure cooker followed by a few minutes under the broiler.
Makes 4-6 servings
Ingredients
6 pounds pork ribs or spare ribs, individually cut
1 cup potato starch or tapioca starch
For the Seasoning
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
For the Sauce
1 tablespoon oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup honey
½ cup soy sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika.
- Remove the silver skin from the back of pork ribs and cut into individual pieces. Add the ribs to the seasoning and mix well.
- Preheat the air fryer for a couple of minutes at 375℉. Meanwhile, put ½ cup potato starch in a large resealable bag. Add some of the ribs and give the bag a good shake, lightly coat each piece and shake off any excess starch. Add more starch to the bag and repeat with remaining ribs.
- Place the rib in the air fryer basket without overcrowding and spray evenly with cooking oil. You may need to make them in multiple batches depending on how big your air fryer is.
- Cook the rib at 375℉ for 10 minutes, give them a toss and cook for another 10 minutes. Remove and set aside. Repeat with the second batch.
- In a wok on low heat, add oil and garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Turn off the heat. Stir in honey and soy sauce. Add the rib and toss until the ribs are nicely coated.
- Serve on a platter and drizzle remaining sauce on top.
